Fariña history
Dating back to 1942, Bodegas Fariña is one of the oldest wineries in the region of Toro. Founder and grandfather, Salvador Fariña, began his careful site selection long before Toro was recognized as a D.O., in the of the tiny village of Casaseca de las Chanas, on the banks of the Duero River.
As early visionaries, the Fariña family had their pick of the best vineyards and their prized lots are widely considered the best in the region. Manuel Fariña inherited the winery from his father in the late 1960´s following his return from his winemaking studies. He introduced vineyard management techniques that soon transformed winemaking in the region. Today Manuel’s sons, Bernardo and Manuel, Jr., work alongside their father determined to make their family winery the best in all of Spain.
