Bodegas Fariña Today

The stunning Bodegas Fariña property is a state-of-the-art winery that sits amid some of the oldest vineyards in Spain, reflecting generations of innovation and dedicated stewardship.

Bernardo Fariña´s passion, and ongoing experiments, are focused deep underground in the barrel cellar. He works in-depth with different oaks, toasts and origins to add extra complexity to the wines, and is currently working with 16 different types of barrels in the cellar.

French and American oak barriques are stored up to 5 meters underground in temperature and humidity controlled conditions. French oak wooden tanks or “tinos,” each with a capacity of 16,000 liters; have been specially handcrafted for Bodegas Fariña. The wines undergo malolactic fermentation in the tinos, in addition to being blended after barrel ageing.
